Bays Mountain Park and Planetarium - The 3500 acre nature preserve is one of the nation's largest city parks. It offers 22 miles of hiking trails, a 44 acre lake, a nature center with a domed planetarium, and enclosures to house native animals.

Warrior's Path State Park - This park located on the shores of Fort Patrick Henry Lake provides camping, picnicking, 12 miles of hiking trails, horseback riding, mountain bike trails, and an 18-hole golf course.

Daniel Boone Wilderness Trail - This historic trail was originally used by Indians and was later a route taken by Daniel Boone. The trail was widened in order to make it suitable for early settlers to travel west from what is now Kingsport into Kentucky.

Exchange Place - This farmstead is a living history farm that recaptures life in the early 1800's.

Netherland Inn - This historic inn next to the Holston River was used by the early settlers as a spot to build boats for their westward trips during the mid-1700's.
